Amazing Finds!

This past weekend I was at my in-laws for Memorial Day. I discovered that they had been hiding vintage quilts from me! (Okay, not really, I just didn't know about them!) I went in the garage to talk to my father-in-law, and spotted a quilt WITH hand quilting AND hand pieces y-seams! I did the whole, "oh my gosh!!! What, where, and why?!" It was sitting on the water heater and Kyle just said I could have it because it was in an old trunk that he got at a yard sale. That got me started and my mother-in-law,Cathy, got out some old family quilts that my husband's great grandmother made! So, here are pictures of a couple of those.
My most favorite! Hand pieced seams!

The yard sale quilt! Oh man.

Dresden fan quilt made by Linwood's great grandmother White. Her daughter, Evelyn is Linwood's grandma and is now in her 90's. she told me that there was a lady who would do the hand quilting on these for $3. THREE DOLLARS. I am still trying to grasp that over here.
Now for some fabric that I just got in the mail! Is so fun to come home to a package! I ordered some Out to Sea by Sarah Jane for Michael Miller and some Geekly Chic by Dorothy Tsang for Riley Blake. Lastly, I got Modern by Robinzingone for Robert Kaufman! I already have plans for all of these! Have a look (I ordered from Hawthorne Threads and loved the service)!

Have a great day!
