So I let it alone for a little bit and right around that time Miss Mustard Seed released 3 new milk paint colors. One of them being Dried Lavender. I knew right away it was exactly the color and shade that I needed to go with my space. My living room is painted a muted gray and my couch is a dark gray and together they have a but of a purple undertone. Up until this point I have HATED the purple that seems to come through on the walls and couch and now that I have fully embraced it and finished the table, I am no longer looking at color swatches every other week and dreaming about re-painting it. I am totally sold! I went ahead and re-upholstered the chairs with some heavy drop cloths and painted them Grain Sack to match the hutch. I decorated the table with things I have collected and have shown up in many other photo-shoots. I went to take the pictures yesterday and realized that I needed some sort of linen underneath the plates to really complete the look. These burlap placemats are so quick and easy. You just cut them the size you want and then pull of the threads until you have the desired amount of fringe on the edges.
The red book on the table is also something I threw in to complete the look and it was my grannies. It contains a series of stories one of which was my mothers favorite from the time she was a little child
