Well to start out with, Rachel and I are cousins. We grew up thousands of miles apart- Rachel in Tennessee, and I in Arizona. Since we lived so far apart, visits were few and far between! Luckily, when I was old enough to fly alone my parents packed me up and sent me off to Tennessee for several summers to hang out on the Grissom farm. Those were some of the best memories of my childhood and they helped Rachel and I stay close. After Rachel graduated from high school, she went on to complete her bachelor's degree and later began her Master's program. I graduated from high school and attended one year of college before coming back home and marrying my high school sweetheart. Rachel came down for my reception and I had intended for her to meet my husband's older brother but work and circumstances didn't allow that to happen. Luckily, my husband was able to talk his brother Linwood into connecting with Rachel through the Internet and by phone. It wasn't long before Linwood took the long journey out to meet her. The rest is pretty much history! They married the summer after Devin and I, and currently reside in Yuma, Arizona where Linwood works as a Border Patrol agent. Rachel finished her master's degree after they were married and works for a bakery in Yuma. I live in a suburb of Tucson, AZ as a stay at home mom to my twin boys Tristan and Atticus, as well as my daughter Scarlett. Not only do Rachel and I share ALL of our family but we also share a love for sewing, quilting, crochet and embroidery, instilled in us by our mothers and grandmothers. This blog will be a conjunction of those things as well as what ever else we may create along the way! I hope you all enjoy the ride and feel inspired by our work!
